Billy Corgan's Experimental Album 'AEGEA' Is Now Available

In addition to two new Smashing Pumpkins albums, Billy Corgan has been hard at work on an experimental album called "AEGEA." Recordings appearing on the double LP date back to 2007, but they're only now available for purchase, Consequence of Sound reports.

Beginning today, the first two pressings of AEGEA, limited to 250 copies each, are available through MadameZuZus.сom. Each copy is hand collated, numbered, and signed by Corgan, with the first 50 records coming pressed on colored vinyl. That's the album artwork up above.

"As a work, 'AEGEA' is experimental in nature, and comes across as more a soundtrack to some lost foreign film than the kind of music I'm usually associated with," Corgan said of the album. "Listening back I quite like how AEGEA goes along, as it has qualities that are both meditative and alien; but not alienating."

Below, you can preview a three-minute clip of music from AEGEA.

I have always loved Billy Corgan's music (Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, his collaborations and solo projects) but this may be a little too "experimental" for me.

You, as a troll, have failed yourself and those like you. The other guy was a moderate success, don't ruin it for him.

Not a fan of 'experimental' stuff really but I can actually understand the 'soundtrack to some lost foreign film' part of what he's saying. I think it would fit one perfectly.
