New supergroup Black Country Communion haven't played that many shows yet, so fans got some good news from bassist Glenn Hughes via Twitter this week... "Yes puppies: we are filming Blu-Ray on tour... Will be released in October: we are building a foundation: GH". BCC are bassist/vocalist Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze, Black Sabbath), blues rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater). The band has just released "2", their sophomore album; it quickly debuted at #1 on the BBC Radio 1 Top Rock Charts, and currently sits at #4 after 2 weeks on the list. To introduce the new music, BCC played a series of US shows this month before heading to Europe for a 6-week run of dates. Thanks for the report to Hennemusic.com.

This lineup has produced some incredible tunes and there's absolutely nothing quite like this either. Hughes won't be around forever. They should give this group their full attention. Listen to Song of Yesterday or The Battle for Hadrian's Wall and you'll know that there is more to this band than hype. They are the real thing!

Meh, I've not heard the new album yet but the first one was a big dissapointment from such an excellent line-up. Derek should get back to Planet-X and his solo work. It's absolutely immense and there's certainly nothing else quite like it.
