Former Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle has premiered the first track from her upcoming debut solo album. Listen to "Meet the Foetus / Oh the Joy" below.

The track is dark, grunge-influenced slice of classic-sounding rock produced by Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Mark Lanegan, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age) and features both Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Emily Kokal (Warpaint) on backing vocals.

As Gigwise notes, despite the big-name guests, however, Dalle remains the start of the show, with understated vocal delivery taking centre stage over dark, QOTSA-esque riffs and climaxing with an epic, choral crescendo.

Dalle is heading to the London for a one-off, intimate gig at the end of this month, with one other European show scheduled in Berlin, Germany in the first half of the year. She will return for European festival shows in the summer. Her sparse tour schedule is below.

02/24 - London, UK - Hoxton Bar & Kitchen
02/27 - Berlin, Germany Magnet08/12 - August Budapest - Hungary Sziget08/17 - Biddinghuizen - Holland Lowlands Festival

The drum machine (sure sounds like one) throws me off. It needed some "umph" drumwise to support the dynamics. Otherwise I really liked it.
It started off sounding like a Blondie song and then I really really enjoyed the punky vibe towards the end. Cool little song.
