Rock supergroup Chickenfoot first announced that they were beginning work on their second studio album, "Chickenfoot IV", back in January. The band hasn't wasted any time since, and after having to work quickly in the studio because of drummer Chad Smith's busy schedule, it looks like the record is finally done.
The band's bassist, former Van Halen member Michael Anthony, recently turned 57. Anthony released the follow news about the album and its sound on his birthday via his official Facebook page:
"Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes! The only thing that makes my day better is that mixing on the new Chickenfoot CD is done! It's a lot heavier than the first record and I can't wait to get it out there!"
The bassist went on to talk a bit about when the new material and an upcoming single will be released:
"The first single should hit the airwaves sometime this summer with the full enchilada to follow in the fall. Stay tuned for all the details and we hope to see you all real soon! Mad Anthony."
