Coldplay will premiere the full version of their brand new single "Atlas" today at 4pm, Gigwise reports.

Recorded specially for the soundtrack of new movie "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "Atlas" sees the UK band are their most downbeat and melancholy, on a delicate piano ballad which bears all the hallmarks of Coldplay at their finest. The band made the announcement on their Facebook page, revealing all the time zones where the track will premiere. See the image below.

"Atlas" will be the first track released the movie soundtrack, which reunites Jennifer Lawrence with co-star Liam Hemsworth for a second round of brutal battles in the futuristic franchise. "Atlas" will be released as a single later this month, on 26 August.

Speaking of his admiration for the band, the movie's director, Francis Lawrence, reveals that he was "thrilled" to have Coldplay on board for the movie sequel.

"I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film," the director said in a statement.

"Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we cant wait to share this music with audiences around the world."

Gave me goosebumps! Really cool. Coldplay never fail to impress. I'll never understand why people hate them. They're wonderful people and make decent, lovely tunes.

I lost a little respect when I heard they stole Every Teardrop is a Waterfall from an unknown band and admitted it.. other than that, they make some cool tunes

It's called "sampling", which is completely legal and ethical. Not "stealing and admitting it".

This is so promising as they're currently writing LP6. If we get songs of this caliber then we will be blessed with a monster album.

I used to love Coldplay. Then Mylo came out and ruined everything. This is very redeeming. It's not quite as good as Parachutes or Rush of Blood, but its getting there. Good on you Coldplay!

they are currently on a 3 year hiatus. If you didn't go to the mylo xyloto concert, then you really missed a very deeply spiritual experience. If your only into metal, then why in the hell do you want to troll, go back and listen to Axel Rose, and dream of getting laid to cherry pie again!
