Former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo has confirmed laying down tracks of a new four-song EP by Philm.

Along with a photo of his drum kit, Dave briefly tweeted about "recording some double bass drums" at Scott Frankfurt's studio California. No further details have been unveiled, so stay tuned for fresh info.

Meanwhile, the band's been looking for a label to release their recently wrapped up sophomore full-length album "Fire From the Evening Sun."

Chatting with Capital Chaos TV back in April, Lombardo shared hopes of unleashing the record in July, so it would seem that things are headed as planned so far.

"The songs are more concise, a little more solid, instead of the loose structures that we had on the first album," the skinsman said about the 12-song effort. "We improvise everything first and then the engineer, which is my son, he cuts the songs, we arrange them and that's how we create our music."
