Dillinger Escape Plan are streaming a new song titled "Nothing's Funny" from their forthcoming album which you can hear in the player below.

The album "One of Us is the Killer" will be released on may 14 through the band's label Party Smasher Inc with help from Sumerian Records in the US and BMG elsewhere. Those records won't distribute themselves, you know.

Speaking about the album, frontman Greg Puciato says Dillinger's wildly ambitious music can be a real challenge to record.

"Steve [Evetts, producer] has told me that there's no other band that he has recorded that requires this amount of attention to detail. We take a longer amount of time to do one thing than most bands take to do ten, he told Noisecreep.

Describing the direction of their new album, Puciato adds that it's inspired by old punk and hardcore records a lot. "I can definitely hear that in some of the riffs, which are really aggressive ... this is the most all over the place and weirdest record we've ever written. It's the first one since I joined the band where Ben [Weinman] has sent me songs and I've been like, 'What the f--k is happening? This sounds like a beehive!'"

    Whats crazy about it?
Sounds like a pretentious metal version of Mars Volta in my opinion... Nothing really crazy about it.
DEP are around since '97 or '98, so I'd say TMV sounds like a soft version of these guys if I actually agreed in that there's a similarity
Mike Patton influence all over. My preorder package came in yesterday. With that said, I absolutely love the album...I have never liked them in the past too.
Great song! Really demonstrates their ability to merge the melodic with the heavy. Although I agree this is not crazy by Dillinger standards. In fact I think that the last song they released "When I lost my bet" was way crazier.
I'm not really big into these guys, but I'll go see them live any day. Talk about crazy, their live shows, ****
