Green Day's 'Quatro' Documentary Coming This Month

Green Day have officially set August 26 as the release date of their documentary "Quatro." As the official website announcement reads, the film will be available on CD and DVD alongside the final part of their latest "Uno!" "Dos!" "Tre!" album trilogy. The documentary's global premiere took place back in January at the Winter X Games. In words of bassist Mike Dirnt, "'Quatro!' brings our fans one step closer by giving them even more access and revealing what it was like for us to make these records." Green Day are currently keeping a fairly low profile, with the upcoming plans including only two festival performances - Reading festival show on August 23 and Leeds Festival appearance one day later. The band's latest studio effort, "Tre!," saw its release in December 2012 as the eleventh Green Day record. With 58,000 units sold in the United States during the first week, it peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. You can check out the previously released "Quatro" trailer below.

This is probably stupid but if it's a documentary, how is it going to be available in CD as well? There's definitely something I'm missing here

They showed this a bunch on Palladia back in January, I thought it had come out months ago.

It's also not a documentary if Morgan Freeman isn't narrating it.

When Morgan Freeman makes a documentary, he narrates it first and then nature simply makes it so.

"the film will be available on CD and DVD alongside the final part of their latest "Uno!" "Dos!" "Tre!" album trilogy." "The band's latest studio effort, "Tre!," saw its release in December 2012" So... wasn't Tre the final part of the trilogy? I am so confused, UG.

Tre! was released December 2012 as the final part of the trilogy and now Quatro! will be released and be available with that trilogy in the form of a DVD and CD. So which part are you confused about exactly?

The documentary was only available on DVD to Idiot Club members, if I'm remembering correctly. I'm not sure what the CD is though. Possibly some of the unreleased tracks recorded during the sessions? I believe there were a few leftovers.
