For Record Store Day, Jack White's Third Man Records released a limited-edition vinyl reissue of the White Stripes' "Elephant" (this year marks the 10th anniversary of the album's release). As Consequence of Sound reports, Third Man will give the reissue a wide release on August 27th.

According to Third Man, the album was mastered direct from the original, analog source from the 2002 recordings at Toe Rag Studios. Whereas the Record Store versions were pressed on color vinyl, the August 27th release will come on 180 gram double black vinyl, packaged inside a double-gatefold, printed inner sleeve with an MP3 download card.

Pre-orders are ongoing here.

Vinyl is the best. CD's are like music in formaldehyde. Clean, crisp and sterile.
