Joan Jett announced first solo album in seven years, Consequence of Sound reports.
The record titled "Unvarished" is scheduled for release on October 1 and features guest appearances from Dave Grohl and Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace alongside with Joan's band the Blackhearts.
Rolling Stone reports that the album is Jett's most autobiographical work to date. The record will feature tracks about Hurricane Sandy and the death of Jett's parents.
"I'm in a different part of my life," Jett recently told the Modesto Bee. "The song's aren't all sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. There comes a time when you have to go through stuff. For me - this isn't very uplifting but I call it the decade of death, losing people, companion animals very close to me, my parents, really heavy things."
The first single is entitled "Any Weather," and Jett will debut the song on US chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live on August 8. In a statement, Jett commented: "It's a real band album. Everybody was involved."
