John Frusciante sent out an official e-mail saying that his next release, an EP entitled "Letur Lefr", will be released this summer in Japan on July 4th, in North America on July 17th, and the rest of the world on July 16th. It will be released on many different formats, including cassette and digital download.
Fans had been divided over whether John's post-Red Hot Chili Peppers releases would ever see the light of day. The EP will have five tracks on it.
This EP release was confirmed earlier by Frusciante fansite Invisible-Movement. The real news in the e-mail was about the LP titled "PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone", which will be released on September 12th in Japan, September 25th in North America and September 24th everywhere else.
The e-mail itself as stated:
"I consider my music to be Progressive Synth Pop, which says nothing about what it sounds like, but does describe my basic approach. I combine aspects of many styles of music and create my own musical forms by way of electronic instruments."
John's official website now has a pre-order for the releases.
Thanks for the report to JohnFrusciante.com and Invisible-Movement.net.
