Judas Priest are gearing up to get back "into full writing and recording mode" for a new album, says frontman Rob Halford. Speaking to Billboard.Com, Halford said he and guitarist Glen Tipton already have new material in the vaults, and added that guitarist Richie Faulkner, who replaced K.K. Downing in 2011, will likely contribute as well. Halford said his "gut feeling" tells him the new album will be ready for release sometime next year. "I'm of the attitude it'll be ready when it's ready," he explains. "I don't think we're going to slack off. We're determined to do a lot of work and be just as dedicated as we've always been and take a lot of care and attention with all the songs. We're not going to just bang this one out, so to speak." Thanks for the report to Russel Hall, Gibson.com.

As it might be their last album, I hope it's really a killer. Also, I'm glad that they're going to let Ritchie contribute unlike some other bands that when they get a new member completely ignore all of his ideas. Priest won't disappoint!

"And the Steel Dragon thing is that A.C. and I write the songs. And you sing the songs that we write. Am I clear?"

Fuck ya, i hope Priest really delivers the goods on this one. See what i did there. But seriously, super stoked to here what kind of material they've got cooking up. Nostradamus wasnt a bad album, it had its diamonds and it had some really rusty songs too, OH MY GOD he does it again!

it might not have been a conventional Priest album but i really thought Nostradamus was incredible. can't wait to hear what they can come up with, but i thought they just had their last tour? i hope they've chosen not to retire

I'm sure Richie Faulkner will sound great. Thank God we didn't lose Tipton! I'd rather hear Faulkner and Tipton, than Faulkner and Downing. I like K.K. Downing a lot, but Tipton is my main man. Judas Priest isn't the same without him. I'm so psyched to hear their new album, 2013 can't come fast enough! I declare the world isn't going to end until Judas Priest breaks up.

I believe their swansong will be epic, a band with a career like Judas Priest won't give us a half-assed album as their last one. Even though Tipton and K.K. were one of my favorite guitar duos of all time, I'm curious about what Richie Faulkner can do.

Nostradamus is amazing, you need to really appreciate the theme and story the album goes through, some incredible guitar and vocal work too! Can't wait to see what the new record has in store

Definitely one of my favorite bands. Almost 100% sure this will go down as a top ten album of this new decade.

I highly doubt Roy Z will produce, since they've lately been once again using Tom Allom who produced all their 80's albums. He mixed Touch of Evil live, the British Steel live DVD/CD as well as the upcoming Epitath DVD - Probably mixed the US festival DVD too (screaming for vengeance 30th anniversary).

I personally didnt like Angel, loved Nostradamus. Really going to miss KK, but I will have to deal (even if it causes great pain). Richie was great live.
