I hate the cover art. The Early/Latter Days art (which if I'm not mistaken was Zep in spacesuits) was much better,

The Mothership comp is crap. At least they'are finally putting out the full MSG '73 show.

That is some ****ing ugly album art. This compilation is chipping away at the history of Led Zeppelin even further. Stop it.

Heartbreaker not followed by living loving maid? That's distasteful! Almost a Sacrilige.

and ramble on and over the hills and far away, my bad... but seriously, early days is like the exact same order as the first disc... they mixed up the order of like the first 4 but other than that ...

sounds like a good collection of their songs. Kinda like greatest hits. I wouldn't buy it cuz I already have all these songs on different cds, but if you don't have any led zeppelin yet, buy it!

I would get this for the Vinyl's..but if you have The 2 Led Zeppelin box sets and How the West was Won DVD and The Song Remains the Same DVD theres really no point in getting this
    niftypapaya
yea its basically early days and latter days with a bit more songs...but still very much worth buying for all the features

Vinyl Edition is cool, everything else is bull. Zep III is still terribly misrepresented; its half acoustic people, and such an excellent album for it.

pretty much with teh exception of heartbreaker and dyer maker this is exactly like Early Days and Latter Days... almost the exact same track order to

hahaha, I already own this!! However it is called Early Days/Latter Days.. Christ, I guess people never get sick of money...

I Do own early days/latter days, How the west was one and there signs one (I'm not sure on the name but its like 10 cds) but I would still buy this because it sounds like great roadtrip music(8 minute slow songs are ideal for hung over singing ala Tiny Dancer(elton john) in almost famous).

who cares if the cover art is lame or if you already have all the songs? its ZEP people! the greatest band on the face of the earth! buy it anyway. its also freakin sweet that their releasing it on vinyl AND their re releasing srts with all the songs

This would be great for those who are new to Zeppelin or those who only want to own one Led Zep album. I'll definetly be buying it.

Is there a single disc version available, I am asking because I saw it advertised in a future shop flyer and what do you know it was sold out when I got there, so I tried to get it price matched at zellers but they said it was the wrong version, it was the single disc version of it apparently. Strangely I have never seen a single disc version and cannot find it anywhere on the net. Is there such a thing as the single or is there just the standard 2 disc and the deluxe 2 disc with special dvd.

why would any diehard zeppelin fan buy this, we already have all the cds we dont need some of their best work just in a different order

    FrancoSelf

    that's like 2 songs awesome!!!
    sebbsmith
    03. D'Yer Maker Haha! Isn't that meant to be the worst song? Not that I don't like it.

duncang : That cover looks like Virgin Megastore product placement.
im surprised, correct me if im wrong but didnt page choose all their album covers? cos that doesnt look anything like the kind of thing i assosciate zeppelin with, and i cant actually imagine page choosing or even allowing for a cover like that

Led Zep are a great band, but is this not milking the cash cow a bit too much. Plant and Page are multi-millionaires, surely they don't need more money.... could they donate some of the cash from the sales to charity?

You don't have any facts to substantiate your claims. Many wealthy musicians are involved with charities and other things to help a cause. Look at their reunion concert, that is for a benefit cause. Remember, there are always many hands in the cash pot. There are more people that stand to make money than the band members.

all there greatest hits cds are the same just buy there discography you would be better off.

sounds like they're cashing in... but suppose it'll be great for the die hard fans

Yup, I bought the "Remasters" CD years ago, and if I'm not mistaken the 2nd disc contained exactly the same songs as this one (except for The Rain Song which they replaced with Over The Hills...). I really wonder what goes through their heads everytime they make these changes; the "No Quarter" CD/DVD setlists have been changed like 3 times already with every re-release (once again leaving out the rain song).

Hmmm, well... I mean, these guys never released singles. They're such a legendary band (and still popular, I heard that over 20 million people have registered for their upcoming reunion performance) and yet they have released so little live material. This is just a standard procedure for record companies: every 5 years you re-release a newly remastered "compilation" which is basically just a greatest hits cd. If anyone takes the initiative for cashing in it's their record company. The only difference with all the other bands is that Jimmy Page will always want to be involved in the process of remixing and selecting the songs, he won't have anyone f*ck with his music

I agree, I'd expect that from Queens of the Stone Age or something. Not Led Zeppelin.

paintITblack39 your i rolling stones fan. they have more compilation albums then zeppelin. what do you mean "all the greatest hits albums? there was a couple box set compliations back in the day. then early days/latter days. now this. ohhh wow.
    Scarlet_Fever
The album art looks awesome. Ergo, the album itself must be great. Right? Right? Seriously, if you're a diehard fan then you'll have all of those songs on the albums they came from.
    fenderboy20
all this is is early days and latter days only a few different songs. im so pissed the reunion tour is only one day...and its a few thousand miles away from me.
    thejester
cant wait for the revisited dvd and soundtrack, will definately be purchasing those
    HomerJay45
I am a huge LZ fan but what the world needs is not another greatest hits set. At least throw us some B side material or even live, longer versions of the hits. There is nothing new on this release. The only cool thing is the vinyl edition. Vinyl Rules.
    Ixthyx
This is the mirror of the "Early Days" "Latter Days" compilations, plus Ramble On and Heartbreaker but minus What is and What Should Never Be. And I guess Over the Hills. :/ Kinda weak guys, kinda weak. Cover art is cool though.
    Longshanks

Looks more like a White Stripes album cover. Lol.
