Lita Ford Plots 'Real' Return

Lita Ford is planning a May release for her new album, "Living Like A Runaway", on SPV Records. The album will feature guitar hero Gary Hoey. "Gary Hoey and I wanted to approach this record by getting back to basics," Ford explains. "We want to strip away all the electronics and plug-ins and keep it to vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Going back to basics is going back to what punk, metal and The Runways was for me. 'Living Like A Runaway' means freedom and empowerment. To do what I want and to pursue my dreams while answering to no one." Ford's previous album, "Wicked Wonderland", was panned by critics for what some saw as a focus on Ford's now ex-husband, Jim Gillette, rather than on Ford's own vocals and guitar playing. Ford recently told Classic Rock Revisited, "the last album I did was called Wicked Wonderland, I put it out with Jim Gillette, and we were married at the time. It is kind of a Jim/Lita album and not a really true Lita album. I got a lot of schpeel about that. A lot of people have told me that they want a real Lita album, and I know what they mean. They are going to get it." SPV A&R Representative/Product Manager Olly Hahn said, "When I bought 'Dancin' On The Edge' back in 1984 I never thought that I would ever sign Lita Ford to a label. But a dream of mine came true and it's a huge honor for us at SPV/Steamhammer to have one of the leading women in rock 'n' roll on our label." Thanks for the report to Peter Hodgson, Gibson.com.

Oof... Subtle much? Coming up this year, we also have Brian WIlson's album "Let's Head to the Beach, Boys", Noel Gallagher's "Honey I Left My Keys in the Oasis", Dave Grohl's "Im now Buddhist because I like Nirvana", and Courtney Love's "I can't close any of my Holes".

You guys are killing me! C'mon, it's Lita Ford! I don't know if it'll be any good, but I'm definitely looking forward to finding out. And who says no one wants to see 40 year old women rocking out? What about Joan Jett? She still tears it up after all these years. All that being said, that first comment was pretty damn funny.

40 year old woman? You're being extremely kind! A 40 year old would be Jennifer Lopez. You're talking about Lita Ford who's looking down the barrel of her mid 50's!

Good to see Gary Hoey getting some UG coverage, before Amazon I imported a couple of his albums, Endless Summer soundtrack and Animal Instinct then chanced upon the Heavy Bones' CD in, remember this UK viewers, Our Price! Great guitarist, will definitely have a listen.

What I meant was, the mainstream isn't going to pay any mind to this, despite Ford's constant talk of having a big comeback. But to be honest, the only song I know by her is Kiss Me Deadly.
Well, if you've heard that one, you've had to have heard her duet with Ozzy, Close My Eyes Forever .

Should I feel bad that I don't know who Gary Hoey is? As for Lita, I don't think she'll be making any sort of a comeback. Nobody wants to see a 40ish old woman doing metal songs. Sorry, just my 2cents.

Joan jett had a face lift... And as I stated in the previous lita article..... I would still hit that!... Might need to strap a board to my ass. BUT NONE THE LESS... ID STILL HIT IT. By the way... Still laughing my ass off at very first comment in this article.
    Way Cool JR.
You never hear about Gary Hoey anymore these days. He is a total bad ass and very underrated, I was a huge fan of his back in the 90's. I have always loved Lita Ford, she was so fricken hot back in the 80's & 90's and her music kicked major ass. every-time I see a B.C Rich Warlock or Mockingbird I can only think of her sweet ass. :haha:
