Metallica have posted a video teaser ahead of their upcoming live DVD release "Quebec Magnetic" scheduled for release on December 10.

"Quebec Magnetic" was shot in Quebec, Canada in 2009 over two nights during the "Death Magnetic tour".

It's the band's first-ever self-released title and as the group itself has stated, it comes with a "very Metallica fan-friendly price" of $15.98.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett recently stated: "We played two really phenomenal shows. They were just outrageously great and the audience was great. We had people filming it, and we felt we were really doing a disservice just sitting on this great footage, so we put it out."

You can check out the teaser and the tracklist below.

I love me some Metallica, but it seems like they've become nothing but a stage act now. One live release between albums is enough.
That is what Metallica has always done though. They tour harder than probably any band. They are always on tour and always doing shows. They take very few breaks. It's what they love the best, playing for the fans and it is why they are still around.
I can't be alone thinking that seeing so many Metallica live releases for the Death Magnetic tour with similar setlists have made their shows kind of predictable. But hey, this one has some new stage props.
Sure they are milking it but why not give options to their fans to purchase the show? They film every show, it would be cool to make every single show available on DVD so fans can get a copy. I see nothing wrong with market at work. They make it, people buy it or they don't.
this dvd/blu ray is the first thing metallica puts out from their own label. Metallica is a touring band, they've said that from the next album they will be doing a more stable schedule. one-two years touring and one to make an album. Also metallica are one of few bands that have material actually lasting for five years of touring. Although i want a new album, i have no trouble with them on the road. I know the next will come late next year or early 2014. so in the meanwhile i'll listen to all from Kill'em All to Death Magnetic!
I am from the province of Quebec and I didnt get to see those shows.....I am really happy they are putting it out and I'll get to watch it and live it....its awesome
i think being a band is more about playing live than bringing out cds.... just my opinion
So almost 4 years after the concert theyre just releasing it?? Why so long??
Some people would say the same about Celebration Day? I'm not complaining.
I love that they're releasing this show on DVD/Blu-Ray, they should release as many shows as possible. I see it no different than them making all their tour shows available as mp3/flac downloads on their site. That said, it's depressing that Metallica has been more of a business than a band the last 20 years. Metallica Inc.
