Mumford & Sons Writing New Album

They won't rest after the success of "Babel", and are planning a new album and live events for 2013 already.

Following their recent record-smashing success in the US charts, Mumford & Sons are already writing new material for their next album.

Their current album "Babel" went straight to number 1 in the US, and they even matched The Beatles' record of having six songs in the Billboard singles chart at once.

"Will we wait years for the next album? F--k, no," banjo player Winston Marshall told NME. "You heard it here first. We've just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They're bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones."

The band are currently touring across the UK and Ireland, and have been playing intimate theatre gigs before moving on to sold-out arena shows.

Over the summer, Mumford & Sons played a series of one-stop festivals at hand-picked locations around the world. Marshall confirms they enjoyed it so much that they'll do more of the same in 2013.

Everybody, grab your ear plugs. You're about to get your local alternative radio station mixed with country...
I personally find Mumford & Sons' music to be very boring and generic...
Agree... their songs all sound the same to me. Same strum pattern on the same chords on the guitar... pause... oh breakdown with banjo rolls!. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Then throw in lyrics with the word "heart" over and over.
I find his voice pretty irritating, a bit like a cat mewling... but well done to them, I guess?
Lotsa hate. I prefer Mumford and Sons to most other acts on the radio these days, and they seem like cool guys. No need to flame them.
What's with the hating? These guys are one of few real musicians left... you might not like their musical style, but you gotta have respect for their efforts. They make really good music.
i went to see them in manchester on monday and i must say proberly the best gig ive been just brilliant musicians
I don't understand how so many people especially here at ultimate-guitar can enjoy these guys. All of their material sounds the same and anyone can continuously strum chords on the acoustic guitar. where's the talent in popular music these days?
