3 Doors Down guitarist Chris Henderson has revealed to the Phoenix New Times that the band is working on a new album. When asked if we could expect new material from the band in 2014, Henderson stated:
"Oh yeah, there's new material coming. We're not hanging it up or anything. We're going to be around and keep doing what we do, be it for good, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer until the end of it.
"It's not really hush-hush or anything. We're just writing and trying to wait and see what happens. We have new members in the band now. We don't have [bass player] Todd [Harrell] with us anymore, so we're writing with two new guys and we're just going to see what happens."
Henderson also spoke about how band dynamics have changed following the departure of bassist Todd Harrell, who was ejected from the band after being charged with vehicular homicide in 2013. Harrell's firing followed the departure of guitarist Matt Roberts in 2012. They have been replaced by Justin Charles Biltonen and Chet Roberts respectively:
"It's made the live show a lot different. The dynamic has improved. There's a lot more interaction on stage between the band members. It's brand new for us. It's like starting over, almost, so it's pretty cool. We're enjoying each other's company."
