In an exclusive interview with Planet Rock Slash revealed that his second solo album will be released next spring. A second record has been mooted for some time but this is the first time that Slash has talked about the schedule for the record. Speaking to Nicky Horne he revealed "Myles and I have been writing all throughout the tour so we've got a lot of material, and at this point we're probably gonna start a little bit of pre-production in June and then do the tour in July. In September we're going to [do more] pre-production and the album is slated to come out in March or April." As previously reported, Myles Kennedy will handle all of the lead vocals on the album as opposed to the revolving door of singers on Slash' debut. Slash plays a handful of UK dates this summer. The gigs kick off at the Academy in Birmingham on July 20, before calling at venues in Manchester, Stoke and Leeds. The guitarist will also play at T In The Park in Balado, Kinross-shire (8-10 July) and High Voltage in London on 23 July. Thanks for the report to PlanetRock.com.

How this album can be a solo album, when it will feature one singer in every track? just sayin'

Exactly my thinking, it's just a band now

guess it's his songwriting on the album, a modern composer can have a solo album and not play a single instrument in the recording like Ludivinco Einuidi who only plays piano on his records. Same thing but yeah i'd rather hear velvet revolver make a solid album with the consistency of gun's appetite.

I'm a slash slut, but having Kennedy do all the tracks, the whole albums gonna sound like starlight or broeknn wings. Let him be with Alterbridge, and go back to VR you egomaniac.

Anyone else think it's ironic that the singer for Slash was actually voted as a being a better guitar player than Slash? Even though that solo was mostly Tremonti's work and relatively recent compared to Slash's solos, but just pointing out the irony :p

no, it's a band if they can all call the shots equally. This is Slash's thing, Myles is just writing lyrics, same as in the last album.

Don't get me wrong, I love Myles Kennedy. But if he's doing all the vocals on this album, I probably won't buy it. I loved that Slash brought in a bunch of different singers and genres on his last album. What other album are you going to find Matt Shadows, Fergie, Dave Gohl, Flea, Andrew Stockdale and Adam Levine? Starlight is okay, but just OKAY.
