Paul McCartney Announces the Wings Reissue And Movie Screening

Ex-Beatles bassist and songwriter reveals details about 1976 concert album re-release.

Paul McCartney and Wings' popular 1976 concert album "Wings Over America" is set to be reissued in an assortment of different formats on May 27, according to McCartney's official website. The original, three-LP set featured performances from the only Wings concert to pass through North America.

Among the many versions of the collection that will be available is a Wings over America "super-deluxe" box set, packing four CDs and four books. That set will offer a remastered, two-CD edition of the original album, a bonus disc offering a Wings show at San Francisco's Cow Palace and a DVD of the 75-minute Wings over the World TV special. In other Wings news, the band's 1976 concert firm featuring performances from the 1975-76 McCartney & Wings tour, Rockshow, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time on June 10. The film will also play as a one-night-only screening on May 15 in over 500 theaters around the globe.
