According to Punkbands.com, Rise Against are planning to return the studio to work on their fifth album as soon as they finish supporting their latest album "The Sufferer & The Witness". Expect it to be released sometime in the summer of 2008. More further information regarding the new album remains unknown for the time being. The band has been touring non-stop since the release of "The Sufferer & The Witness" in 2006. The band just announced they will be heading their own tour through North America throughout this summer, which means they would not be part of this year's Warped Tour. Tomorrow (May 19th), Rise Against will also perform live at the fifteenth annual KROQ Weenie Roast, which is set to kick off at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California. You can check out the rest of the line-up here. "The Sufferer & The Witness" was released last July via Geffen Records. The follow-up to 2004's highly acclaimed "Siren Song of the Counter Culture" was produced by Bill Stevenson (NOFX, ALL/Descendents, Good Riddance). The album also spawned to singles "Ready to Fall" and "Prayer of the Refugee".

Siren Sound was the first cd i ever listened to and they are still my favorite band, I think the Unraveling was a little too punk for my taste and same with some of the songs in RPM but some of them were good. Then they came out with sufferer and i really liked that one. So im guessing im going to like their next CD but something tells me their going to bring A LITTLE of their punk style back or they might expieriment with a little more hxc screaming im not sure but i just have to say that their awesome in any way they do their music their an amazing band.

I think it's awesome that they're going to make a new record, but it seems to me that alot of bands rush back into the studio to soon to make a new record. Tool's got the right idea, the take some time off and let the media take in what they've just done instead of stuffing them with more music.

and by the way, all of you guys buy the unraveling. it is AMAZING, exceptionally great for a band's first release. some of the best songs on the album are my life inside your heart, six ways till sunday, the unraveling, reception fades, and 1000 good intentions. if you can buy the resale with gethsemane and join the ranks.

i dont think theyll bring back the screaming. if youll notice that neither siren song or sufferer and the witness, there latest albums, had any songs that screamed obnoxioiusly, with the exception of state of the union but that stil wasnt that bad.

these guys do ****in rock but there is a chance that this album could suck especially now chris is gone... this new guitarist might not be any good

i'd have to say that Revolutions Per Minute was probably my favorite album they've made to this date. I do look forward to the new CD though. I really like most of the stuff they've done

I really hope we get more sound like their older, which was way more punk feeling. I miss songs like Generation Lost, Tip the Scales, and Heaven Knows. Injection and Prayer of the Refugee are great, but they don't fill that space.
    break-me-in
Oh good I missed them this time round. Justice-For-All: Listen to Prayer of the Refugee then say that again. Yeah Sufferer and the Witness was actually awesome.

Awesome =) , the new guitarist moves way more then there old , but he needs to improve his playing a little more tho. but still doesn't take away that the show ****in rocked

woop, saw these at leeds met a week or 2 ago, it was awesome, they really did play too many new songs though. I hope they go back towards their old sound.
    Justice-For-All
Hopefully it's more like Revolutions per Minute and Siren Sound. The last album was kind of weak in my opinion.

Rise Against is awesome. All of their CDs are amazing and this one will be too. They are also really awesome live. If you haven't seen them, you need to.
    I Walk Alone
Rise Against rocks. I liked RPM and Siren Song better than Sufferer, but it had some good songs like "Prayer Of The Refugee" and "Drones".
