Brazilian thrash metallers Sepultura have announced that they have completed the recording process for their upcoming album, including two cover songs - one of which may surprise fans.

The band has recorded 13 tracks, and while the complete tracklist has not been released, it has come to light that Sepultura will be covering Ministry's "Just One Fix" and 90's electro-dance group The Prodigy's "Firestarter," expected to be released as bonus tracks on special editions of the album.

Produced by Roy Z. (Halford, Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson), the upcoming album is expected to be released in May via Nuclear Blast Records. The band has not revealed the album's title at this time.

The band plans to embark on a US headlining tour this Spring in support of the new album, featuring Austria's Belphegor, Norway's Keep of Kalessin, California's Bonded By Blood, and others as support. Nevermore will join the tour after May 23rd, replacing Belphegor in the lineup.

Sepultura were once a really good band, Arise is one of my favourite thrash albums, Roots was the first sign that they were going downhill, first album or 2 with that derrick guy are alright but overall Sepultura have been in my most hated metal bands now because of the garbage they are releasing noweadays, I bought A-Lex when it came out, hearing it was a return to form, but it was the worst yeat, horrible, horrible, unoriginal, death to the ears type music, no song stood otu and it sounded like a jumbled mash of half-hearted riffs and the most generic vocals ever. Sepultura went from the kings of South American metal to the worst, and with A-lex they even went further, worst than the worst. I do not support anything that comes from this band anymore.

Seriously people STFU. It was MAX who QUIT this band, so if you're going to be upset with anyone be upset at him for walking away. Any one of you would have taken his spot if offered. They are a good band who are doing nothing wrong, since Max and Igor were happy to leave their 'legacy' with these guys.

No they're not...Max was trying to get back in Sepultura but Andreas was apparently being a dick, "making crazy demands"... Either way, you can argue with me forever, but its not gonna change my mind that this is NOT Sepultura.

Soulfly already did a sort of Firestarter cover with "Riotstarter"... Anyway I'm certain this album will be great as all Sepultura albums are from Morbid Visions to A-Lex and **** the ignorant haters (they're just missing out)

This is gonna be terrible... First 4 albums was Sepultura. Nothing else is.

Sepultura died when Max left the band. I am curious on the Prodigy cover cause Firestarter was one of my favorite songs by them.

Ergh, Firestarter? Love that song, but surely they could choose one that wasn't the figurehead for the original artist. The Ministry cover will definitely be worth a listen though, even being that I don't like a great deal of their new stuff. They need to go back to their Roots.

i think its not very hard to imagine a prodigy-song played by sepultura... anyway great news!

I have that Prodigy album that the song is off of. But this just isn't Sepultra anymore.. -shrug- Yeah, I'm that guy. Sorry.

Theyre making a good heavy metal. In the dak age for rock we live, thats enough. Comparing sucks

I lost interest in Sepultura after Against. Are they a three piece now or has someone been cut out of that photo?

Well i'm glad they picked that song, when I first read they were covering prodigy I was worried but that song might turn out great.

Mostly. Original founding members are gone except the lead guitarist (I think) and basically they haven't sounded much different since 'Roots' came out apart from the abundance of cover songs. U2's Bullet the Blue SKy was my favourite.

Their cover of Just One Fix should be good, knowing they're heading in that industrial metal realm of music right now.

To all the "Sep died when Max left" whiners, seriously stfu. It's been 15 years. Derrick has been in the band longer than Max was now. I would understand if they booted him, but he QUIT! Give it a rest already. I, for one can't wait for the new album. The vids they were posting of the new songs sounded killer. A-Lex was ok, but Dante was better. Hope it's more along the lines of that.
