In what will be his first true solo album, rock icon Slash announced his CD, Slash, will be released in April, 2010. Today Ultimate Guitar exclusively reveals the new album's artwork. Check it out at this location. The album features an all-star roster of guest musicians including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother. A major undertaking for Slash, he enlisted services of producing partner Eric Valentine (Queens of Stone Age, The All-American Rejects) and compiled a rhythm section of bassist Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) and drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails). Slash handled the majority of arranging and songwriting duties and hand-picked each guest artist. The album's guests worked collaboratively with Slash to round out the song. "The idea was really simple in the beginning," said Slash. "These are all artists I wanted to work with that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative. And I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job. And we had a lot of fun making these songs." In addition to the album news, Slash has teamed up with Guitar Center, the world's largest musical instrument retailer, for a first-of-its kind undiscovered music program:Guitar Center Presents Your Next Record with Slash, an unsigned band competition that provides emerging artists the chance to win the ultimate career-altering opportunity: record a 3-song EP with legendary producer,Mike Clink (Guns N' Roses,Motley Crue, Megadeth) and haveSlash write, record and perform on the winning artists' single. Starting today, through April 30th, 2010 bands across the United States are invited to submit their music atYourNextRecord.com for a chance to win. The Slash album will be released through EMI Label Services. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Slash on the "Slash" project. I love how this artwork is kinda in homage to his skull on the cover of appetite for destruction!

Yeah, looks like this could be an awesome album. But sucks that Slash has decided to team up with some of these artists. Can't really imagine songs featuring artists like Kid Rock, Fergie and Adam Levine possibly could be great.

Everything about this album screams that is going to be great... sadly I'm in the very ass of the world, so no chance to buy it. I'll try to get the MP3 download... IF the freaking internet is good enough around here.

also, did you notice the hidden nude girls in the red background ? one has an alien head with enormous ears, and the one at the bottom look like Slash with boobs !!!

Luckily for Slash the new GNR are out touring and dragging attetion to the GNR-label. Not mentioning the musically wise brilliant CD. I bet he will be able to sell a bunch of copies this year, would be hard a couple of years ago! Now, lets just hope he put as much effort into his music as he has in public relations. Should be awesome!

Very happy to see in particular Grohl, Kennedy, Shadows and Cornell. I won't lie, Maroon 5 is a VERY guilty pleasure of mine so i'm interested in seeing how that track turns out as well. Stockdale's voice pisses me off, and Kid Rock in general pisses me off, but aside from that i'm very excited for this album.

Where's "Sahara"....? I'm looking forward to what he did with Grohl and McKagan there.

people upset about alice cooper and izzy songs getting cut, Slash has stated that he has additional tracks that he will release in other "territories" later on. I have a feeling these are the additional tracks

Anyone noticed the naked lady on the very bottom? It's got Slash's head (and hat) on her neck... Pretty frightening

Wow,judging by the titles, it looks like the album's going to have a alot of different sounds. I agree, what the f*** is up with the cover art?

the cover is laughable and un-thought-out to say the least... it almosts makes Megadeths first albums cover look good.

OMG... The cover just sucks so much it's unbearable. This looks like it has been done with cheap computer graphics. Very, very cheap cover. What ever happened to giving the artwork duties to a REAL artist? Not manufactured by a computer... Sad... really sad...

Yeah, I bet you look really cool huh? Why would you even read this article if you are a Slash hater? Oh, wait I guess insulting people of the internet appeals to you, probably makes you feel like a big man. Go cleanse your vag.

LOL. 1989 called. They want their album art back. Baroness has one of their band members do their own covers and it is 150% sicker than this.

I can't wait to hear the song with Ozzy but I had heard that Alice Cooper was going to be on it too and now I see he is not, I can't help but feel a bit dissapointed. Ozzy and Alice are two of my all time favourite singers.

Hi! everyone, I'm new here! from japan. I read "Player"march 2010 issue today. Interview with slash about solo album. From songlist I found out Izzy's name on "Ghost".
    Shadow_Hawk
According to Slash's facebook page: the Ian Astbury song also features Izzy Stradlin, it was a press release mistake. THANK GOD IZZY WASN'T CUT!

I don't think the album is going to be that good to be honest. And the artwork looks a bit rubbish. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I swear that he said he was never going to release an autobiography or a solo album, and now he's done both. I mean I like Slash, but that's just a bit weird.

FOR EVERYONE ASKING WHERE SAHARA IS: Its only on the Japanese release, UG said that when they posted that song up the first time (learn how to read guys) Anyway, everything should be great, or at least interesting, except for the Kid Rock collaboration, imo. I can see some VERY interesting things going on with Adam Levine, and I know Fergie isn't everybody's cup of tea, but musically together, they're not 'bad'.

definite entry into my top 10 worst album covers. a skull....cmon, there so incredibly lame and that writing looks shit. if this was released in the seventies then i think it would be acceptable.
    Metalology
Well, the title is lame and the artwork is cheesy as hell so they go together well. But, I want to actually here the music before I make any final conclusions.
