Trent Reznor: New Band Unveiled

Trent Reznor's post Nine Inch Nails project has been revealed as How To Destroy Angels. The new band, which is made up of the musician and his wife Mariqueen Maandig, have launched their website and released a 40 second video clip, which introduces an ambient, heavy electro sound, and shows a woman's hand - believed to be Mariqueen's - working a synthesiser. The only statement released so far by the band reads: "Self-titled 6-track EP out this summer. Exact date TBA." Multi-instrumentalist Trent- who retired his band Nine Inch Nails from playing live last year - has previously promised he will release new music this year, saying in December last year he will be working on projects: "Including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails." One of Trent's friends, electro-rocker Gary Numan, recently said the new material will be a departure from the polished industrial metal sound of Nine Inch Nails. He said: "I went out to dinner with Trent and he said then that it'd be great to do something very different from what both of us have done before, which sounds very exciting. I know he's been back in the studio working on stuff. He works constantly." Thanks for the report to Contactmusic.com.

Yeah, tell me about it. Guess you with your awesome originality for coming up with names should have helped him. Shame. Anyway, back on topic; I think I'm more looking forward to this than any more NIN material he will be putting out. Sounds awesome, I've been getting more and more into this sort of music recently. Good to have something fresh coming on the scene.

This is the funniest statement I've read today. Whether or not you believe Jesus was of any godly or religious significance, he was, in fact a real, as was documented by several non-religious Roman historians.

You're right, religion is no longer a lifestyle. Now it's almost legend. In 50 years, full out Christians will be few and far between. That's like saying we're beyond Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids, while in reality those our some of Earths greatest feats and mysteries. Just like the invention of religion. Was Jesus a real person? We will never know for sure. this sounds pretty cool. I always though NIN was kind of mainstream, but I think I might like this a bit more. Anyone know what kind of synth Trents wife is playing at the end of the video? With the rubber band thing and the knob? I want one of those lol

This should be sweet. I actually live in Mercer, PA, where Trent is from. Awesome guy. He came back to visit our high school a while back. Got to talk to him a bit. Then, I went to our local outlet mall and got done and saw him at the Denny's across the street!!! Great guy though. I'm just wondering what his wife will have to do with this.

The "post NIN" thing threw me off and scared me a bit. It led me to believe NIN was history. Come on, UG, don't do that.

Said the one with "lern2swim" nickname. FAIL Otherwise I'm excited about the news. Let's see what his wife can bring to the table.

That's not Trent on bass, that's Atticus Ross. I am very excited for this project. Those song samples sound quite tasty.

I just hope that Trent doesn't go to route that Chris Cornell went. Overall, I'm excited for this.

Well he stated he was done touring with NIN for the foreseeable future.. But then news came he was going to release new material for NIN this year as well as something that wasn't NIN. Like this article stated as well. He was "Gone" in a sense, because he wasn't touring anymore.. So glad I saw him back in '08..

Wow, you have no idea what you're talking about. Go piece together the truth from some news headlines somewhere else.
No, he's right, that's exactly what Cornell did.

Consciously spelling a word differently so I can take a screen name and having horrible spelling and grammar are 2 entirely different things. I hate the internet because it's made already stupid people stupider, not about people consciously spelling things wrong. Although, generic "l33t" speak is supremely retarded. So, your "fail" makes you fail.
