Following the announcement of headliners and their main supports, next year's Download festival received new additions, covering a wide array of guitar-driven genres. Specifically, Download 2014 program now also includes the Offspring, Trivium, In Flames, Steel Panther and classic rock veterans Status Quo. Furthermore, the Black Dahlia Murder, While She Sleeps, Blessthefall, Crossfaith, Letlive and Miss May I were also announced as performers. As previously reported, the event will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and rock icons Aerosmith, while their respective supports include Rob Zombie, Fall Out Boy and Alter Bridge. There was also a matter of a strange #WhyNotDyingFetus viral trend that landed a gig to none other that Dying Fetus. Tickets are available via official website and currently range from £170 to £205. As for the newly confirmed acts, most showed great excitement for getting the chance to fire up one of the world's biggest rock events. "It's been six years since we first played Download and we can't wait to return and rip it up," guitarist Noodles of the Offspring said. "Stoked!" Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoleto announced the band's special plans for Download, saying, "We are thrilled to be returning to Download for our fifth time. In honor of both the festival and fans that embraced Trivium first, we have decided to play our 2005 set list from start to finish, preceded by a set of some our other festival favorite tunes. "However, to make it all the more unique, we will be playing this 'one time only' set on the Red Bull Stage, the most intimate and intense setting possible for revisiting this special moment in time," Gregoleto continued. "We have had some of our best experiences as a band on the hallowed grounds of Donington, and this is shaping up to be one of our most exciting ones yet! Do not miss it!" Drummer Stix Zadinia of Steel Panther might have summed it up in the best manner. "Fish and chips," he kicked off. "Tea and biscuits. Monty and Pythons. Steel Panther and Download Festival. These are four examples of how nature has been able to strike the perfect balance of harmony and elegance between two glorious and powerful things."

Shame, Download won't ever top 2012's line up. Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Anthrax, Opeth, Machine Head, Soundgarden, LOG, BLS, Steel Panther, Tenacious D and Slash, all on the same bill. This one seems pretty tame in comparison.
I wish I could see this, for me even this would make an awesome concert, excluding the other awesome bands already announced
In Flames is awesome, the rest are cool n all, maybe a meh on A7X,other than that the show lineup is killer.
This is going to be interesting to see Trivium play material from Ascendancy. I only got into them during the In Waves era but Shogun and Ascendancy were the first two albums I really listened too. I'm guessing that along with the setlist from 8 years ago they're playing a few things from Vengeance Falls, likely BTS, Strife, and VF itself as well as Becoming The Dragon from The Crusade and then a few from Shogun such as Throes of Perdition, Shogun, and maybe ITMOFH
"we have decided to play our 2005 set list from start to finish" Wow ALL FIVE songs? But to be fair they're all from Trivium's only good album imo...
Letlive. are legitimately the only interesting band on this line up.
Letlive are awesome but some other decent bands have been announced there. I still wont be going this year just cause I would like to see at least 1 headline band to feel I'm getting my moneys worth but unfortunately this years 'big' names aren't doing much for me.
Remember when it was Aerosmith, Slash, Motorhead, Stone Temple Pilots, Steel Panther, Cinderella and Billy Idol all in one day? Download is really now a metal festival, and it sucks, it's a shame.
To refer to Aerosmith, Linkin Park, Fall out Boy, Status Quo & Offspring as metal is a truly peculiar thing to say.
You're literally the first person I've ever seen complaining that Download is TOO metal.
Don't know where you're getting that from, I see only one metal band out of the 6 headlining bands, and most people doubt A7X's legitimacy of being a metal band anyway.
Still looks like Sunday's the only day worth my time. Ah well, even one day would be a good experience.
The Offspring used to be a good band :/
theyre still awesome i saw them a few months ago they were great and sounded good- completely showed up 30 seconds to mars who played after them
While She Sleeps, Letlive., Steel Panther, Crossfaith... This is shaping up to be a great show!
DYING FETUS!!! That's so awesome that a viral trend landed them a spot on this festival, props for them!
