Veteran British rockers Jethro Tull will return to North America this summer amid reports that the group is working on its first new studio album in 11 years. The trek, which gets underway June 11 in Miami, will descend upon 11 cities, including shows in Boston (6/15) and Toronto (6/18), wrapping with a June 20 show in Highland Park, IL, just north of Chicago. Details are included at this location. The group has also lined up an extensive schedule of overseas appearances over the next several months. Those dates can be found at Tull's official website. Jethro Tull's most recent studio album is 1999's "J-Tull Dot Com," but the band has been playing new material during recent concerts, and has confirmed to various interviewers that work is progressing toward a new studio release. "I have sent material over to America where the band are working on it," singer Ian Anderson told last month. "That's kind of how it works these days but they seem to like what I am doing." The band, which formed in 1967, currently consists of a lineup of longtime guitarist Martin Barre and drummer Doane Perry, along with newcomers Dave Goodier and John O'Hara, both having joined the group in 2007.
