In one of the most unusual divorce settlements in the history of rock music, the Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach his given his ex-wife a lock of Bob Dylan's hair.

Their divorce was finalised this week, with documents showing that his ex-wife Stephanie Gonis receiving and item titled "Bob Dylan's Hair" and $5 million as part of their settlement, according to NME.

The pair made headlines this month when Auerbach took temporary custody of their daughter after claiming that she tried to commit suicide twice in one day.

They also appeared in an email last month by Jack White in a message to White's former wife Karen Elson, in a rant about Elson enrolling their two children to the same school as Auerbach's daughter.

"My concern with Auerbach is because I don't want the kids involved in any of that crap," said an email alleged to be by White. "That's a possible twelve fking years I'm going to have to be sitting in kids chairs next to that a-shole with other people trying to lump us in together. He gets yet another free reign to follow me around and copy me and push himself into my world."

Why are spouses of rich people entitled to shit loads of money their other halves rightfully earned when they divorce? It's practically nothing more than legal theft. Go out and earn your own poxy cash
Jack White's E-mail sucks, but it sucks that we even have access to it. On one hand, Both bands came out before the other was even famous. Jack uses much harsher sounds and loves Beefhart, while Dan is always super-smooth and loves Junior Kimbrough. When you look at their influences, you really see it, and it's enough to say neither copied the other.
goddamn, few things irritate me more than greedy, golddigging *****s. none of that shit belongs to her!!!
Why is nobody talking about how pathetic it is that Dan owned a LOCK OF BOB DYLAN'S HAIR. Dylan is a great songwriter, and a huge influence on me any many others, but that kind of hero worship is just creepy.
dammit jack white when and why did you become such a conceited prick?
Why did his ex wife release private emails to the public to make him look bad before the custody hearing? He can think what he wants, there are many similarities between their bands anyway. I mean, do the texts you send to your friends or gf about someone you don't like make you a prick?
wow, any time there's an article here about something Patrick Carney says everyone on UG is like "Wow, what a dick!! Black Keys suck lol". But they rush to defend Jack White.
You haven't been here that long, clearly..everyone is a target here, depends on their behavior. If he feels Auerbach copies him, that's his business, this isn't a press conference he made. My point is that his private correspondence with his ex wife doesn't show anything, for all we know he sees that dude on the street, says hello and walks away. She's the one at fault here. And Carney IS a dick, I like some of his one liners to other dicks, he can be funny, but this is undisputed.
I completely agree, I've followed the keys since before they went into the studio with attack and release, as they've gotten more publicity, Carney got dickish.
    ridley 10000
It kinda sucks that Jack White dosen't like Dan Auerbach. I know Jack feels like Dan copyed him but there 2 bands aren't THAT simler. Oh well Jack White ROCKS so I don't care LOL.
I really dig both artists, what with Jack's band The Dead Weather and Dan producing awesome bands left and right (Buffalo Killers, Bombino)I wish that they could both just get along with each other and maybe even collaborate. *sigh* Oh well I guess
Such an irrelevant band. How does this guy get to act all pompous? Did their 15 minutes really last that long? They are not the the best "The Black " band to come out in the last 10 years, let alone good on their own.
I seem to remember very specifically seeing The Black Keys and The Raconteurs play back to back in 2008. I wonder if this bitterness was still there back then?
