Blur Not Finishing New Album in 'Near Future,' Damon Albarn Explains
Damon Albarn recently discussed the status of Blur, describing the experience of playing with the band as "f--king brilliant," but still noting that the new album is unlikely to drop in the near future.

"I just haven't got the time," Albarn told Rolling Stone. "We put in a good shift last year and played a lot of gigs around the world. Everyone's off doing other stuff at the moment."

The musician was quick to point out that leaving Blur behind isn't something that will ever happen. "It's a big part of my life. I'll never abandon the spirit of it ever. It's kind of in me," he said, also adding, "Who doesn't love playing in a band? It's f--king brilliant. The best."

When it comes to Gorillaz, Damon noted that the future is equally vague. "Apart from the visuals, I am Gorillaz," he said. "I am the recording when it comes to Gorillaz. It's complicated since it's just me. Just because I was a cartoon ... There's no difference, really ... It's a bit embarrassing for me to say 'yes' or 'no' about stuff that's my stuff anyway. I just don't see it like that. I've been playing Gorillaz songs in rehearsal and some of them sound really fresh, so I'll definitely be playing them on my tour. So, is Gorillaz here or is it not here?"

The musician's upcoming solo album "Everyday Robots" is scheduled for April 28 release via Parlophone Records. Letting fans know what they can expect, Albarn recently teased the "Photographs" track. Make sure to give it a listen below.
