Earlier in the year, we reported about an arrested drunk guy who became a YouTube sensation thanks to his rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the back of a police car. Now, that individual is back in the public eye after showing up to the court hearing for his DUI charge dressed... as a Viking.
Robert Wilkinson, the Alberta based star of the video, attended court wearing a Viking helmet, complete with horns, sunglasses and a NASA t-shirt reading "I need my space." Wilkinson was without a defense lawyer, and chose to defend himself on the grounds that his arrest was a violation of charter rights. Needless to say, he didn't win the case. He has been fined $1,400 and prohibited from driving for one year.
We wonder if Wilkinson's defense was similar to the tirade that he gave the cops before bursting into song:
"I have done nothing wrong, even the situation where you grabbed me has nothing to do with being sort of intoxicated, as you proclaim. I didn't see that I was intoxicated when you grabbed me. I have an ear, arrrooogreeaah, but it doesn't even matte."
