38-year-old Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie and her 40-year-old husband Josh Duhamel welcomed their first child yesterday (August 29), naming him after Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose.
As People reports, newborn son Axl Jack Duhamel weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Although baby's name remained a secret until now, Fergie's affection towards rock music is quite well known. Back in 2011, she collaborated with Slash on "Beautiful Dangerous" track as a part of former GN'R axeman's debut solo record. She also performed live with the guitarist on several occasions.
The singer's love for Axl Rose is well documented. "At first I wanted to be with Axl, and then I wanted to be Axl," Fergie once said.
"He's going to be an amazing father," she commented about her husband. "He's got natural parenting instincts."
Duhamel already expressed how thrilled he is about having a son. "It's very exciting," he said back in February. "[It's] unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine,'"
