"Torture a man and he will tell you anything" is a slogan of the new Amnesty International campaign over in Belgium, insisting that torture is not an effective mean of interrogation.

Among others, the campaign features rock icon Iggy Pop praising none-other that young Biebz. The photo of severely beaten-up Iggy has the following quote below it: "The future of rock 'n' roll, it's Justin Bieber."

The rest of the campaign also features Dalai Lama and fashion titan Karl Lagerfeld, both severely battered and making paradoxical claims, all in order to stress that torture shouldn't be applied. Check out the posters (with the lines translation) below.

Iggy Pop line: "The future of rock 'n' roll, it's Justin Bieber."The Dalai Lama line: "A man who does not have a Rolex watch at 50 years old has failed in his life."Karl Lagerfeld line: "The summit of elegance, this is the Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops."

Really quite a clever ad campaign. I hate how much western governments condemn actions and inactions of other parts of the world but will alter their own laws to protect their own interests. Anyone who is power anywhere is a crook as far as I'm concerned.

God bless imperialism. "We politely ask for your permission to invade and bomb the shit out of [insert country]. If you say no, well **** it, we're going to invade and bomb the shit out of it anyway".

If any US-based initiative like this was tried, there would be public outcry from at least five different multi-letter organizations claiming some sort of discrimination or disrespect and offense.

Why is the Dalai lama working with this, before the chinese came to Tibet torture was standard procedure. The dalai lama saying torture is bad is like Ronald McDonald saying hamburgers are unhealthy.

Because the 14th Dalai Lama was never a part of that. The Chinese invaded in the middle of his attempts to modernize the country, and the human rights violations inflicted by the Chinese are drastically more severe than anything they did prior.

joke or not, for the pride of rock, i'd have kept my mouth shut. at least i'd be a martyr for rock! me saying bieber is rock to escape torture would be more painful than any torture i could endure.

It's not a joke, and clearly the message went over your head.

no no, i get it...let's end torture. what the bleeding-hearts clearly dont understand(and go over their/your head), is that, some things, like torture are in the people's best interest so they can safely keep crying about things like this, or capital punishment or whatever. if there's a bomb planted somewhere, where it could potentially hurt thousands of our/your own people, you bet your ass i'd support torture to find out where it's at. and once it's found, you can get back to the safety of your couch, feed your fat face and complain about how this n' that is sh1tty.

I don't get it. Hawaiian shirts and flip-flops are somehow not the coolest combo since socks and sandals?
