Lady Gaga Posts Picture of Metallica Audience, Claiming It Is Hers
0
Lady Gaga has caused some controversy after mistakenly posting a picture of a Metallica concert on Instagram and claiming it was hers. As Blabbermouth reports, the photo of the crowd, which Gaga claimed was from her show at Canada's Festival D'ete in Quebec over the weekend, was actually taken from Metallica's performance at the same festival in 2011.

The caption that accompanied the picture read as follows "Those little dots are fans, and that's our stage and lights beaming from the center. Unreal 90,000 ppl showed up! What a magical night #artraveQuebec"

Gaga's appearance reportedly drew roughly 40,000 less people than the 130,000 attendees that showed up for Metallica's gig at the same event three years earlier.

Lady Gaga will be joined on tour this summer by BabyMetal - the heavy metal offshoot of the Japanese pop idol group Sakura Gakuin. Dates are as follows:

07/30 - Phoenix, AZ - US Airways Arena
08/01 - Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand Garden Arena
08/02 - Stateline, NV - Harveys Lake Tahoe
08/04 - Salt Lake City, UT - Energy Solutions Arena
08/06 - Denver, CO - Pepsi Center

I do love it when a smug pop celebrity gets caught out! This is brilliant!

Don't hate, she's a total metalhead and an amazing singer.

lol I hate when people defend her with that crap. If she's so talented why does she continue churning out the music she does? Money, one would assume.

Maybe she enjoys pop music? Obviously money is nice, but it's a bit rude to assume she doesn't like the music she makes. Also I think she's releasing a jazz album soon

I love her just because, for a singer, she's a fuking amazing singer. And then she writes all this material. She's got a live band. I was hanging out with the band afterwards, and they're all metalheads. And, of course, you look at her past and she's a total metalhead. She started off strongly into rock and metal and you've seem pictures of her with Alice Cooper or Bruce from Iron Maiden and all of these other people in metal; it just shows you that she's committed to that. So I just wanted to go and check it all out, and it was amazing. And then she comes off stage, instantly, And she's just a really sincere, complete person as a musician.

"I lover her just because, for a singer, she's a fuking amazing singer. And she writes all this material". Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't she called out and I think taken to court (might be wrong on that second part) for ripping off Madonna songs?

I think it takes a good amount of talent to come up with a super catchy chorus, pop music or not. While I do enjoy super long songs with complex harmony, sometimes it's nice to hear some tunes with simple, yet effective, melodies. It's refreshing for my ears.

Just because she knows Iron Maiden and metallica it makes her total metalhead? And meanwhile she makes pop music. I don't say that she can't sing or she doesn't have musical talent but pleaase..

If this was done on purpose (and not an accident), she seems to be quite desperate now... I guess she's already peaked and now is going downhill from now on.

90,000 people went to see her. I hardly think she's desperate to remain relevant. I imagine someone sent her the picture and said it was of her show and she couldn't be bothered checking.

No, 90,000 people were there to see a festival, we don't know how many of them were there to see her perform

Why complain now, her entire career has been based on pretending to be something she's not.

She's been ripping off Marilyn Manson and Madonna her whole career, this Metallica thing is just another drop in the bucket.

Lady Gaga, you just stole something from Lars. Prepare to get "lawsuits up your ass".

This might sound harsh but most people who listen to music like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, etc. etc. etc. don't generally pay too much attention to details... or else they'd be listening to actual music instead of the cell phone commercial background muzak that major labels peddle to the masses these days and call "pop music". People are being dumbed-down at an alarming rate and the sh*tty "music" that they're being sold is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm actually willing to bet that lots of Gaga's fans are going to defend her no matter how much evidence is available to prove that the photo was lifted from a Metallica show. I don't know when exactly it happened but social media hasn't helped... So many people out there would rather believe whatever version of the story gives them a charge emotionally as opposed to what REALLY HAPPENED.

please stop using the "actual music" argument in 2014. Pop music is just as much actual music as prog rock is. And have you interviewed most people who listen to Lady Gaga to find out how smart they are and how much detail they pay attention to? Also, social media hasnt just now done that, media in general throughout time has been more willing to give a story that will charge people emotionally than what "REALLY HAPPENED"

No Thank You, I'll stick to using words that make the most sense to ME. I realize that using my own words as opposed to bothering the words of others can really bother some people but I don't care. I also don't care what year it is, as I don't tailor my opinions to fit whatever is cool in 2014 or 2013 or 2077 or whatever. I do agree with you that pop music is as legitimate as prog rock... thousands of great pop songs have been recorded over the years but, in my opinion, none of them were recorded by Lady Gaga. I have not interviewed Lady Gaga fans. I don't generally "interview" many people at all. I have heard her music, I know plenty of people who love it and I'm aware of what makes the most money in, yes, 2014. Most of today's pop music is garbage produced with the sole purpose of taking as many people's money as possible. That's just how I feel.

I have never been to a show that big...what is the sound like when you are 200-300 meters from the stage?
    mattjamesrenn
really shyte, especially if you are not dead centre. I just don't go to big gigs anymore even if they are my favourite band, I suppose it's fun for people to go in groups to absorb the atmosphere and have fun. everytime the wind blows a little you get a couple of seconds of not hearing anything.

How do you accidentally post of picture of an audience that's not yours?
    TomWhaley
Why is this a big deal? She addressed that it was a mistake, and posted the real picture, which was just as impressive.

I was at this concert 2011. There were people in those trees. At one point the wind blew and you could see them holding on. James Hetfield made a note of it if I remember right. Either way, was an amazing show and am not sure why Lady Gaga would do this...
