The Seattle Police Department has been sued by a conspiracy theorist after releasing previously undeveloped photos from Kurt Cobain's suicide scene.

Richard Lee, a self-described investigative journalist, has claimed that the department should have released the photos long ago, as he believes that they prove Cobain was murdered. The Seattle Police have claimed that the images contain "nothing Earth-shattering."

As Seattle PI reports, detective Mike Ciesynski, who found the undeveloped rolls of film, has released the following statement:

"Sometimes people believe what they read ... Some of the disinformation from some of the books, that this was a conspiracy. That's completely inaccurate. It's a suicide. This is a closed case."

According to Seattle PI, Richard Lee is known for making "groundless assertions" that Kurt Cobain was murdered. The 50 year old has also run for mayor on several occasions, and hosted the public access show "Kurt Cobain Was Murdered." He is representing himself in the suit.

Why is it such a hard concept to grasp that a suicidal man would commit suicide?

Because he married Courtney Love. Courtney Love is just such a flake that you morally cannot just ignore it. The fact that it was ruled a suicide so soon is just such a massive disrespect to the memory of Kurt Cobain. The Seattle Police Department should be ashamed of themselves for not launching even the most miniscule of investigations before closing it.

Shotgun blast to the face with a consistent pattern shown in suicides. Check. Multiple reports of previous suicidal behavior. Check. It's suicide. Open and shut. It's not that hard to tell given the evidence. How long have you been studying crime scene investigation, and what are your credentials? Yeah, he married Courtney Love. That doesn't make him incapable of shooting himself in the face. In fact, if you hate her so much you should see it as a justification for his suicide instead of an excuse as to why you think he didn't do it.

Some people just can't let someone rest in piece.

Just seen my horrible spelling error. That should say rest in peace, not rest in piece!

A guy is really suing because photos of cobains death scene were not released shortly after his death? I'd say that's a poor excuse to sue people or someone for... Just sad.....he's probably just suing to try to get money...

What I don't understand about Cobain is that he allegedly hated fame and was devastated that his underground music was massive. He became so detached that it drove him to suicide. He says it's better to burn out than fade away, but surely that means he wanted to keep his fame so badly that he'd commit suicide rather than fade out.

If you read into Kurt Cobain's life, you'll see that while he was talking about hating the music industry and fame, he was also calling MTV daily to see where his videos stood in the charts. He also gladly signed contracts while speaking out about how much he hated the music industry and at the same time writing in his journal about how much he wants to become a rock star. As much as I love his music, he was a hypocrite and a moron for the most part.

I'd say he was more conflicted than anything. It seems to me like they wanted to be the biggest band in the world when they knew it was impossible. And then it happened, it was one of those "be careful what you wish for" type deals.

Other than the fact that after it happened he still obsessed over it and called MTV on a daily basis to see where his videos stood compared to others, and continued to release music.

Very true. In his journals he had scribblings of his desire to become the most popular band in the world

I am so sick of hearing about 'Kurt committed suicide' this and 'Courtney killed him' that. Personally, I've believe this was a conspiracy and she hired someone, but I spent a lot of time looking into it. I wish the police would either carry out a proper investigation, as they never did, or conspiracy theorists should just let it go and let Courtney win this time.

So you are sick of hearing about it. But you want the police to do what YOU think is a "proper investigation". To appease who??? You??? I've probably one all the same reading of books interviews and conspiracy websites that you have. And much like Seattle PD. I believe whole heartedly It was suicide.
