Marilyn Manson has never exactly been one to shy away from controversy. Indeed, as Blabbermouth is reporting, the singer seems to have caused something of an uproar after walking through security at Los Angeles International Airport with the words "f-ck you" scrawled over his face. Apparently an attempt to keep the paparazzi from taking photos of him, the singer who was accompanied by girlfriend Lindsay Usich had scribbled the words on himself in black ink.

An eyewitness account of the incident has appeared on the social news site Reddit:

"I just went through the LAX security line with Marilyn Manson. He had 'FUCK' scrawled in large letters across the bottom half of his face, with what appeared to be a grease pencil."

"As we each removed our boots in the security line, he kindly explained that it was not directed at me or anyone else in the airport, but rather at the paparazzi, so that they couldn't sell any photos of him that they took."

"He was really apologetic about it, and covered his mouth around young children while apologizing to their parents for exposing their child to profanity."

Marilyn Manson, whose latest record Born Villain was released earlier this year, is scheduled to hit the road with Rob Zombie on the "Twins Of Evil" tour at the end of next month. Said Manson of the forthcoming team up:

"I have sympathy for the Whore of Babylon that gave birth to these twins of evil, and this abomination of a tour. There is no babysitter, and there is no repairing her womb. If Rob Zombie doesn't f-ck you up, than I surely will. Hide all drugs and firearms... I'm coming to town."

It would seem that Manson's paparazzi protest didn't have the desired effect, as photo of his appearance at LAX is available below:

I'm not into his music, but I can't help but to respect him. From interviews he seems like a really smart guy.

agreed 100%. I think he seems like a great man, but I can't sit there and enjoy his music as much as I try

also agree, he has several good songs and a lot of good covers but i cant get into him entirely but i definitely respect the guy, really bright dude. Total poster-boy for not judging a book by its cover.

Seems he's been getting calmer during recent years. 10 years ago he would have jumped the paparazzi dick-first.

I get that paparazzis are paid for this crappy job, but still, it sounds really ridiculous and ****ed up to stalk someone's personal life to the point that makes the person freak out about it. Modern world, I guess... not into his music at all, but I respect his opinions a lot. Artists/famous people are made of flesh and bones, like everybody else.

Those paparazzi really over do it, it is just too much... If I was in a celebrety's shoes I think there would be times that I would also snap a throw a punch or two.

Then they would deliberately try to piss you off to get a reaction from you.

I like MM's thinking, and honesty. I therefore salute to this statement. Born Villain is ok, but Mechanical Animals was a brilliant album.

I thought Born Villain wasn't very good at all, but it was still the best thing he's done since Mechanical Animals, which I thought was just ok. I think Portrait of an American Family is his best full album, and I really wish he would get back to that simple, imperfect approach to his music.

Ha! That's kind of a smart idea.

He should take a leaf out of Daniel Radcliffe's book; he wore the same hoodie and jeans everywhere there were paparazzi, so the photos they took were pretty much worthless.

Creative idea, and the fact that it worked makes it so much better I always assumed he was an *****, from how he acts on stage. But with how he acted here, he actually seems like a nice guy. He just don't give a **** sometimes.

I never used to like Manson, at all. But now I have some respect for him

I'd wear the same thing every single night, eventually the pictures will seem repetitive and the photo's will be worthless to whoever wants them

Attention grab is all this was, they are still going to take pictures and sell them. Heck this probably just armed TMZ with a weeks worth of Marilyn Manson jokes.

I want to avoid the paparazzi, so I do something totally off-the-wall to attract attention to myself. Way to go! I wonder if he wrote it with a permanent marker?
    bulusvanua
The purpose wasn't to avoid them, as he seemed to be expecting them to be there, the purpose, as was mentioned in the article, was so they couldn't sell the photos they took.
    DexterF
Well - who took the photos that we see here?
    f-cusson
I believe it is more of a protest than anything, saying f**k you to the paparazzi who abuse of the celebrity fame for money
    dewitt
That's half of it, I think. And then, on top of that, they just can't publish these pictures most places -- making it extremely difficult to sell the photos. Of course, that's not gonna stop it from showing up on Reddit, though.
    Superperfex
By being Marilyn Manson he already has the attention. It's what bulusvanua said, he is fighting back, and from the looks of it, he's winning.
    guitar7masta
The more he does it the more the public will like it so in-turn the more the paparazzi will want to capture it and the more money they make off his photos. It's a vicious circle. Not to sound like I'm advocating violence but the only way the paparazzi will stop is when they are all dead.

While I respect Marilyn Manson as an artist, he has barely any shining moments. Hence, bring on your hate for my comment!

This makes absolutely no sense. I bet way more people took photos because of this. I mean, a celebrity walking into a public area with "FUCK" written straight across his face. That won't garner any attention whatsoever. I get that he's trying to prevent his photos being sold to websites that will use them for articles, but obviously that isn't the case if we're all here.
    kLeft
Maybe if you didn't dress like a clown everywhere you went, people would get less up in your shiit.
    Ibeanez
His music career is in the tank, prepare for more attention-seeking temper tantrums.
    GREENWARRI0R
Stuff like this is so retarded. If anything, this would make people take more pictures of you and sell them. In the end, I guess that's what he would want... you gotta stay relevant and in the headlines somehow.
    Abacus11
It's 2012... Marilyn Manson should be grateful that paparazzi want anything to do with him at all.
    TiffanyB420
Do you people read these posts? read up there it says and i quote "As we each removed our boots in the security line, he kindly explained that it was not directed at me or anyone else in the airport, but rather at the paparazzi, so that they couldn't SELL any photos of him that they took." now that means take my picture, **** it take a million pictures, **** you, with the word FUCK on my face you cant SELL the picture to tabloids, you can only freely distribute, no money made, **** the paparrazi!
    Bonneau68
Paparazzi are scum. It doesn't matter whether the person they're harassing is at the height of their fame or not. If he wasn't famous what the paparazzi do would just be abuse. The problem doesn't lie simply with the paparazzi, it's with the people who feel entitled to be intimately involved in the lives of people they have no affiliation with. Disgusting all the same however.
    Basti95
What i want to know is HOW the HELL did he manage to write so coherently on his own face..???
