Mick Jagger: 'One Direction Remind Me Of The Rolling Stones'

Mick Jagger has said that One Direction remind him of The Rolling Stones. Despite the clear musical differences between the legendary rockers and clean-cut boyband, Jagger told CNN that seeing their success had made him remember his early days with the Stones. "I watched a concert of One Direction on TV the other night, you know, just to check [it] out," he said. "It reminded me very much of our early concerts, when we were pushed around among the audience and we would kind of float. They were like floating above the audience, and they looked really distinctly uncomfortable. "I remember feeling that same uncomfortable feeling of being pushed around in this very weird place about 50 years ago," he added. "It was a very funny moment, because it was very similar to the things we've been through." The Rolling Stones are set to play two shows at London's O2 Arena later this month (November 25, 29). They will also perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on December 8 and at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on December 13 and 15. Thanks for the report to NME.com.

He basically said, "Early on in our career, we didn't know what we were doing at all... and they don't know what they're doing either."

I'm going to assume most people don't even bother reading the article. They just get butthurt by One Direction in the title without actually reading anything else. Then they probably complain about UG having misleading titles while falling for it every day.

You can't blame someone for complaining about misleading titles. Do you make an assumption about a store by the way the sop front looks? of course you do. sensationalism but I get the feeling the guys at UG love to stoke the fire, can't blame them really.

they don't know what they're doing, but the real world does. making money for no talent, no reason, brainwashing pre-teens and dumber teens.

I think I can see the resemblance, they're both lifeless skeletons with their souls violently sucked out of them. The big difference is, the Stones got that way from being f'ing awesome.

Except the floating in the 60's was because of LSD... The fact that he seems to thing One Direction is floating too is because he's still on the stuff.

It's all good - between all the drugs and his age, he probably doesn't remember what the Stones were like 50 years ago....

Whoever wrote this article and put that as the title needs shooting - he's just comparing their early concerts and nervousness. nothing else

At least it's not a complete mis-quote like a lot of UG articles (the Muse "dubstep is the new metal" one for instance).
