Phil Anselmo has been speaking to Fuse about the distinctive collection of tattoos that adorn his body. As the vocalist notes, he won’t be rushing out to get more any time soon.
"I'm not gonna get any more 'good' tattoos. It's gotten too trendy. It's boring … I'm gonna stick with logos and 's--t.' I think tattoos are kinda cheesy."
Anselmo offered some specific insight into some of his most famous body art, including the "Strength" tattoo that he has on the side of his head:
"I was a very ... willful young man ... So 'Strength' on the side of the head, I still kinda like that. I'm a proud fella. I've been through a lot. But so has the guy down the street. I realise, I couldn't walk in your shoes. You can't walk in my shoes. We all got a job to do. Either way, I think the strength tattoo was, when I was a young man, a scream for individualism."
