South Korean pop star Psy has revealed that he is having brunch with Brian May to discuss the possibility of collaborating on a track.
Speaking to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1 (via NME), Psy made the following announcement: "You remember that I was and I am a really huge fan of rock band Queen? It seems like I'm going to have a brunch with Brian May tomorrow."
Upon being asked if he was planning a collaboration with the guitarist, Psy responded: "Seems like it. I don't know, I'm just going to eat tomorrow, but I'm super excited. The band was an inspiration to me since I was 14 or 15 until now."
Brian May recently made headlines for his comments on TV talent show "The Voice," which he described as the "ultimate insult to music."
"In my opinion, 'The Voice' is absolutely the dullest, dumbest, most depressing programme on TV. It's also the ultimate insult to music and to performers. Every time I catch a glimpse of young singers busting their guts trying to win somebody's attention, who is rudely sitting with their back to the singer ... I feel sick. "It brings singing down to the level of a stupid obstacle course on 'It's a Knockout'. This is not NOT what music is about."
May explained further, saying,"When we sing, or play, for real, we are NOT screaming at the top of our lungs trying to persuade someone to notice us. We have messages, we have subtle emotions, we have beauty, which can only be shared by a performer in front of an audience whose whole attention is already freely given."
