Nadezhda (Nadya) Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina of Pussy Riot are set to appear in the third season of US TV show "House of Cards," NME reports.

The political activists were spotted on the set of the Netflix drama in Baltimore yesterday (August 11) according to the Baltimore City Paper. "Nadezhda and Maria from Pussy Riot were on set, and are in season three of HoC," an anonymous member of the production staff told the paper.

Reports of Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina appearing in the show, which also stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, tally with a Wall Street Journal report in May, when the pair met the show's producers during a visit to America. Speaking back then, Alyokhina said, "It's important for us to meet people who are doing political cinema in the US because, in Russia, it doesn't exist, and we want to know how it happens."

Indicating that a Pussy Riot film is on the cards, Tolokonnikova added: "It's not a question of what do they want, but what we want from them. And we want to learn how to do a political movie. This is our main agenda right now."

More recently, Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina announced that they are to sue the Russian government over their imprisonment for their 2012 "punk prayer" protest.

They are actually quite an odd protest group. They do shit like kiss female police officers to satirise Russia's anti gay stance. If there's one thing in this world that is in dire need of satire, it is Vladimir Putin and Russia.
