Sepultura Guitarist Is Open To Covering Justin Bieber

Virtual Festivals conducted an interview with guitarist Andreas Kisser of Sepultura at this year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival, reports Blabbermouth. Asked if Sepultura would consider covering a Justin Bieber song if they were offered a million pounds, Andreas replied without hesitation, "Yes. [laughs] We're not scared. We're not scared of music indepdently of the style or the quality. Sepultura did cover songs from, of course, the metal bands like [Black] Sabbath and everything else, and MotöRhead, and hardcore bands like Discharge and Dead Kennedys and stuff. We did Bob Marley, we did U2, we did Jane's Addiction We did so many different stuff that it would be a great challenge for us, actually." He added, "I cannot really imagine [Sepultura doing a cover version of a song like Justin Bieber's 'Baby'] because I don't really know his music. [laughs] I would have to do [some] research and see where we can find something. But, yeah, I think that's the beauty of music itself. I think the best covers are the not, let's say, 'expectable' covers. I mean, Sepultura doing Sabbath is very expectable, but if you do something very different and you come up with something new, I think that's why a cover needs to be done."

Ah UG. You and your titles. Missed the main part of the sentence, you did.

Sepultura Guitarist Is Open To Covering Justin Bieber...
...with raw meat and setting the dogs on him.

What he said is actually pretty respectable. As musicians they're free to explore different styles of music for overs. It'd be fun to see all the Bieber fans shit bricks fromhearing a Sepulura version

Yes, but nowhere near as fun as seeing Sepultura fans shit bricks from hearing a JB version of a Sepultura song. Think about it!

And that there, ladies and gentlemen, is what separates the men from the boys in the music industry. Though I'd much rather hear it with Max back on vocals.

    Why the misleading titles UG?

I'd prefer Children of Bodom doing a cover of "Baby,"but that's just me.

I hope it is just you, because I'm sick of their pop covers myself. It was kind of fun as a one-off thing, but I'd much rather have them focus on putting out at least decent music, and not crap like the last album. Btw @the article: is that Andreas Kisser in the photo (I'm no Sepultura fan)? He looks f*cking awesome there, reminds me of Dimebag a bit.

"and not crap like the last album" Are you referring to Relentless Reckless Forever? Because that album is amazing. Anything but crap.

They only did one pop song, the britney speares song. If your talking about Relentless Reckless Forever, that album was a great addition to their catalog.

What this dude says is what everyone should follow in a musician's mindset. I was wondering how he was going to justify ever covering a Bieber song and there it is right there. This guy has just raised the bar for all you ****ers who whine about artists you don't like all the time. If you don't like a song, be proactive; cover it, make it better, and make it your own. If you can't make it better, then shut the **** up.

If you look out for it deep enough on youtube, you'll find Andreas playing guitar for a kid in a song about teddy bears... this isn't suprising at all.

Yeah, this would be epic. I don't care what the fans think, but Sepultura would be practically taking the piss out of Bieber by covering his music.

Anyone who would pay them a million pounds to cover Bieber would do it just so they could act like they wanted to just like the article's title suggests.
    foopeppers
I guess they could only make the song better...even if they played it only by farting.

the only band that could possibly make a justin bieber song bad ass would be sepultura. would be a hell of a lot of work tho haha

Any metal band with creativity can make a justin Beiber song, sound badass, the thing is that Instead of doing that, musicians, focus in doing productive stuff.

I went to a Sepultura show once. Belphagor was opening for them and one of Belphagors amps blew out on the first song. Sepultura refused to let them borrow an amp to finish their set. Every since then, I hate Sepultura.

Good thing about covering crappy music, is being able to destroy the original artists version and make it your own. Maybe they can convert beiberhead's to listen to some real guitar+drum. lol.

I used to love Sepultura back in the "Arise" and "Chaos AD" days. Underrated band. I don't care about a Justin whatever cover but check out their cover of "Symptom of the Universe." Heavy as f*ck!
