"Foreverly," the collaboration between Norah Jones and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, is now streaming in full at Amazon. As the online shop notes, the record is the tribute to an iconic the Everly Brothers album "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us," originally released in the 1950s: "The collection is inspired by 'Songs Our Daddy Taught Us,' an album of traditional Americana songs reinterpreted, recorded and released by the Everly Brothers in 1958. Billie Joe and Norah's album captures the beauty of the Everly Brothers' stunning close harmonies to create a moving and powerful testament to these traditional ballads." Armstrong recently spoke with Stereogum about the collaboration, noting that the obscurity of the record drew him to the project: "I thought it would be cool to remake the record because I thought it was sort of an obscure thing and more people should know about it, but I really wanted to do it with a woman singing because I thought it would take on a different meaning - maybe broaden the meaning a little bit - as compared to hearing the songs being sung by the two brothers." He added that he then got in touch with Jones, but it was "kinda like a blind date." "Foreverly" is streaming for free until November 25th.

Not very impressed. I'm sure if you like this style of music you won't find anything wrong with it, but even with that in mind I found it pretty underwhelming. And for me to listen to Billie Joe Armstrong is a giant stretch in being open-minded, so at least I can say I tried.
