Compared the Freshman with other guitars in a similar price bracket, I was astounded at the sounds from the Freshman, which was the equal of all of them and vastly superior to most.
The Freshman FA1-CEM is a western style cutaway dreadnought electro-acoustic guitar. It features a solid sitka spruce top combined with a maple back and sides.
Being a Mahogany full sized body it has plenty of base but just enough clarity for finger picking, in fact it is probably a half decent guitar for most styles.
This is very much an individual thing, but I thought that this Freshman struck a great balance between warmth and brightness, while still very much having its own identity.
The FA400GACE is a Grand Auditorium sized guitar that features an all solid wood design, which really opens up overtime. It has all of the features of higher end guitars but at a fraction of the price.
