Sound — 10
I mostly play country(Eagles), rock(daughtry) and punk(Paramore). This guitar sounds very good on the mid-range to highs, but it clearly lacks the lows due to its size. But for its size, its really quite impressive. I use a Crate CA6110 with LFD power cords and guitar cables(its actually meant for Hi-Fi systems, but I found that they work well for guitars). The guitar sounds quite different when plugged and unplugged. Its slightly brighter when plugged, and the lows can be adjusted to quite a good level with the onboard preamp. Really impressive for the price.

Overall Impression — 10
Well, all I can say is this one is the best bet for the price you pay. Compared this with Ibanez and Epiphone but This Yam is still the most impressive among all. Only thing I wished for was a 3 way-pick up system.

Reliability & Durability — 9
Imo, this guitar looks really solid, strap buttons solid, finish definitely lasting. But the electronics drains off the battery real fast, but definitely enough for one full gig. But I will never gig without backup.

Action, Fit & Finish — 9
The action is slightly high when I bought it but its playable. I did'nt bother to adjust it and got used to it after awhile. The finish was near perfect except the area near the 15th fret where the body and the neck meets, it looks like the paint is badly done. Nothing else really.

Features — 10
Made in a Yamaha Factory in China, not sure of the date tho. 22frets, mother of pearl inlay on the headstock and on the frets. The sound hole is a unique oval shape with abalone(not sure about the material but its confirm not mother of pearl) inlays around it. Thin cutaway makes it easier to play. Comes with a onboard tuner. The pickups are superb, thanks to Yamaha's A.R.T system(Acoustic Resonance Transducer). Finish is very very good, 6 colors to choose from if I am not wrong. Mines in dusk sun red. The only stuff that came with it was a sound hole cover and allen key to adjust the truss rod.

I have a friend who owns one of these. It is one mindblowingly good guitar. The sound is incredible considering the size. You're not going to get the lows well when unamplified, but plug it in and they come through. That's not to say that it sounds unbalanced when unamplified, it's just not going to be something you should plan to use in an open area aiming to have lots of people able to hear it. The action is incredibly low, and he has light-gauge strings on it, so it is ridiculously easy to play.
