Bart, pu, active - no effects, variable eq via amp. It suits anything but metal. I play a curbow 4 through this and it suits a bass with quality Bart pick ups very well to give a smooth, velvet punchy tone, with its own voice - wonderful - go for it, you will be impressed.

Built like a safe! Really tough build quality, make it very heavy - but also give it heavy bass! The tweeter horn, brings definition and clarity to the front, simply superb. I have mine on an angled amp stand so it faces up and out kinda thing, this helps me hear what is played and ensures the sound is with me before it shoots out to the front of house.

Nice. Safe in use, trustworthy also. NO problems - just be aware if you are buying one, the unit has an inbuilt fan that should be working on 12v... If its noisey, and they can be with age, have the fan changed after you check the volt feed to the fan and have corrected any variance - this can go to 38 v, when parts are failing. Do this repair sooner rather than later as the voltage will effect other parts! I think it is even with the above probable fault, given the age - a superb amp,

I bought this amp on Ebay, it is built in 1995, I went for this because of its small size but massive hit when played! Although its advertised as 130 watts, for sure that is Loud watts! You can if required add an ext cab of 8 ohm to it and it will then dispense 300 watts - Who could ask for more? Sure it is very heavy, but the speaker is world class, the pre amp is outstanding and the options are very versatile, with Di out, post/pre, effects send/ return, line out, shape 1/2, (preset trace eq-Great!) A feature I like is a tuner out socket on the back-superb!
