For the price this is a great value. 6 strings, quilted maple top, nice pro transparent black finish, locking jack input, passive PU's, active EQ, MR2 bridge with individual saddles. This is really an awesome bass.

Reliability & Durability — 10
This bass does not seem fragile at all, and that it could take a good beating. Hardware seems solid enough. The strap pins, although good at holding straps on, came loose after a few months, and recently the volume control knob fell off. The finish is smooth and still is in good condition after a year of zealous playing. The truss rod has never been adjusted, and it has withstood a year of demanding gigs/rehearsals perfectly.

Action, Fit & Finish — 10
It has a beautiful finish on it and it is the best, most affordable bass you can buy. The pickups are passive; the body is fuller and the neck is substantial which contributes to the BTB's rich tone and sustain. With the BTB's extra long 35 inch neck scale, the tension is nice and tight; there's no flopping on the low end and the high strings rise through and sustain better. And although the BTB is traditional in concept and size, it's got the high tech hardware and active EQ you have to have for today's live performances and recording. This bass was an ebay purchace so the action was set to the previous owner's liking. Aparently he was into liking a whole lot of string buzz because the strings buzzed like heck on every fret. The set-up was already great when I was trying it out in the shop. The low B is pretty tight and doesn't rattle a lot as long as you don't play it too hard. Not many flaws to be found except for the slightly 'cheap' quality of the neck. The transparent finish is beautiful.

- BTB6 neck - 5pc. maple/walnut neck material - Basswood w/quilted maple top body - 24/medium frets - Rosewood fingerboard - Mono-Rail II bridge - DXP-MN6 neck PU - DXP-MB6 bridge PU - Pearl dot inlay BTB basses are more traditional in design with a fuller body & neck, resulting in bigger tone and sustain. Tighter string tension, thanks to its 35" scale length, and studio-quiet 3-band Vari-Mid EQ provide a ringing tonality with plenty of control. Its quilted maple top and basswood-back body are a great, solid Foundation for its excellent pickups.
