A Perfect Circle: Thirteenth Step

Sound — 10
I'm going to be honest, at first, this album was only mediocre to me. I had this vision that Thirteenth Step was going to be a continuation of Mer De Noms, completely blinding any other views of the CD. After some hardcore listening, I began to realize the art, and beauty that was right in front of me. The sound is totally different from APC's debut, but still equally amazing.

Lyrics — 10
As of course, Maynard's lyrics are astonishing. Sometimes in riddles, sometimes straight forward, always great.

Overall Impression — 10
This is in my top 10 favorite CDs of all time. It blends very many different genres into one amazing album. I'll be honest, I didn't like Lullabye pretty much at all. Crimes was the only other song to me that is OK. Minus those two songs, every song is equally complex and emotionally moving. No one-hit-wonder here.
