AFI: Sing the Sorrow

Sound — 10
The sound of this album is amazing. While not as hard as Art Of Drowning, it is probably better. It uses much softer guitar and vocals than on their previous albums. On songs such as The Leaving Song (one of my top five on the album) they sound like an almost different band.

Lyrics — 10
Ah, the lyrics. They are far more creative and innovative than anything Afi has done thus far. Davey's song writing is just amazing, although some songs it is difficult to tell what he's saying without the lyric sheet.

Overall Impression — 10
I can't say that I have a favorite Afi album, but I will admit that this is their best made one. The songs are a bit depressing, which is good for me, but they lack the energy of AFI older stuff. I will say that Girls Not Grey has been unfairly hated by a lot of fans. Sure it's a bit popy, but it's still a good song. If it was stolen or lost I would by again the same day. Great.
