Sound — 8
The sound is incredibly diverse on this record. A general extreme goth feeling is kept throughout, but tempos and emotions are constantly changing. If you're looking to expand your horizons into the wide world of extreme/black metal, here would be an excellent place to start.

Bravo on the lyrics. While there are hundreds of bands writing gothic lyrics (dark, emotional, somewhat depressing), Agathodaimon pull it off with brilliance and sincerity. And to top it off, they fit expertly into the songs. As the lyrics become more heartfelt, the vocals and time signature smooth out a bit, even going as far as clean singing (gasp). As the lyrics become more agressive, so too does the music.
Overall Impression — 8
This is a very worthwhile album. For anyone looking to traverse to the genres of extreme/black/extreme goth, this would be the place to do it. The sound is harsh to compared to, well, about anything on the radio, but not as harsh as "true norweigan black metal." The lyrics are beautiful and digestable. Look to tracks 1, 5, 7, and 9, and the fantastic instrumental (complete with backing storm effects) on track 6.
