Sound — 10
Awesome sound, cuts and everything its a masterpiece like it should be. I can stand people who don't like this band, but I can't stand people claiming they suck, or that this album is gay 'cause there is no screams or whatever. This album its probably the best metal album ever, you probably think I'm bullshitting but ill tell you my reasons. If you compare it to any metal album, band or whatever. This album will defenitely be the way higher in music quality than anything you might have listened. If you thought Dream Theater was a progressive and constant changer of styles, avenged's cd will make you change your mind. The solos, drum cuts, voices, choruses and overall sound its completely perfect. All the songs are really good, they set a "personal seal" and they are all complex songs. Forget Green Day and their 2 minutes 3 chords songs. This is an evolution of music, take it or leave it, but it takes a s--tload of music skills to understand such a great band.

Lyrics are awesome, they fit that's something not every singer does. Shadow knows how to write and sing and even though there is some cursing in this album it's by no way near any other metal album you've heard. The lyrics are rich, they go along with the music perfectly and make a point from the begging to the end of the every single song. Choruses are fabulous, full of them but all excellent, they set a direction for the lyrics, in beast and harlot the chorus is amazing. It feels a completely different environment specificly set for that song.

Overall Impression — 10
This album rocks, simply rocks, it has an outstanding s--tload of musical skills in the guitar, drums, base and singing. It's easy, this dudes know what they are doing and they are currently creating awesome stuff, and I'm not saying they've created a new music style but if you think the best Slayer, Pantera, GN'R, Metallica or your fav. band's song was hard to compose your gonna piss your pants with this songs, they have a bit of everything, the solos are awesome, but not just that, the drums cuts with the guitars speak for themselves. Anyways, give this album a try because if you don't like it, it's not gonna be because this guys suck.
