Sound — 10
Ok, this CD definetly sounds a lot diferent from their first two CDs. The first 5 songs on this CD are still loud, fast, and furious, but there is no longer screaming in this album, because of M. Shadows vocal cord injury. He can still sing, but some parts sound a little whiny, but hey, the album rocks enough to make up for it. Songs like Seize the Day and Strength of the World definetly sound unlike the previous music- these songs are slower, quieter, but nonetheless still rock. Synyster and Zacky still show their mindbending skill on guitar with songs like Bat Country, Beast and the Harlot, and The Wicked End. Johnny Christ throws in awesome bass solos in Blinded in Chains and The Wicked End intro, and the Reverend has a crazy drum solo in Beast and the Harlot. Overall, the CD is awesome, but longtime fans of A7X might not like how it's mellowed out somewhat. Best songs- Bat Country and Wicked End. Personally, I like this CD.

The lyrics are good in this CD, especially The Wicked End, even though throughout the CD there are spots where Matt's voice sounds whiny, but it's overlookable. Matt can still sing, but there is no screaming on this CD unlike A7X's original music, except in the Beast and the Harlot intro/outro.
Overall Impression — 10
This is definetly an awesome CD with unforgettable songs, but it's really not comparable to WTF and SST. This is only because the first two Cds and City of Evil sound a lot different from each other. The only problems with this CD are how it mellows out a little too much in songs 9 and 10, but the are still good songs, and how Matt sounds whiny, but again it's not a big deal. I actually had this CD stolen out of my locker at school one day, and went out and bought it along with their other CDs less than 2 days later, because they were so good.
