Brand New: Deja Entendu

Sound — 10
Dark, moody record completely unlike "your favorite weapon". It sounds like "your favorite weapon" having a bad day. The Two part lyrics/harmonies are amazing. It's a cd I can listen too straight through, with powerful speedy tracks and mellow tracks.

Lyrics — 10
The lyrics are just what you would expect from brand new. Honest, well stated and most of all, two part. Some of the songs have enough back lyrics for a second song. Each song evokes strong emotion and really lets you into the writers thoughts. "I will play my game beneath the spin light" lets you feel lonely and homesick, "play crack the sky" is a metaphoric song that really gets me thinking.

Overall Impression — 10
This album is nothing like "your favorite weapon", or anything else I've heard for that matter. I was most impressed by "Sic transit gloria", "I will play my game beneath the spin light" and "ok I beleive you but my tommy gun dont". If I ever lost this, I would definitely buy it again, and listen to it over and over like I do now.
