I love their sound. Their sound comes right out of the late 80s thrash scene. Fast double bass and a rattling E string. Their demo was first produced by Kirk Hammet and man do these guys fit with metallica. This album sound is grity raw and smacks you in the face. Death Angel's debut, "The Ultra Violence," was released in 1987. Drummer Andy Galeon was just 14 years old at the time. The album was a full-frontal assault on the ears, buzzing with the group's youthful energy.

The lyrics didn't impress me to much. They were simply average metal lyrics. Topics of war, death, and society. Nothing incredibly special here. The singer doesn't have the greatest voice but its nothing I can't stand. The singer displays a style somewhat relative to Anthrax or Testament. High voice but not entirely oparetic there is a great amount of ballsy attitude in his vioce.

All in all if your looking for a kick ass metal album to mosh to this is something for you. From begining to end youll be bangin your head all day. This is truely something every metal head should have in his CD collection.
